About this event
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Carbon capture is becoming a reality in the cement industry with the first carbon captured cement now being available in the UK. This session will describe how carbon is being captured at Heidelberg Materials’ cement works in Brevik, Norway, and explain how it can contribute to reducing the embodied carbon in concrete. Presenter: Dr Nina Cardinal Nina Cardinal, Technical Strategy Director at Heidelberg Materials in the UK, has a degree and PhD in Materials Science and and has recently completed an MSc in Advanced Concrete Technology. She has worked for more than 20 years in the steel industry in R&D and senior technical positions before joining the cement industry. Her work focusses on low carbon and circular technologies for cement and cement replacements. She is actively involved in industry and standardisation bodies, both nationally and in Europe, and she works with customers to develop sustainable material solutions for concrete. This event is strictly for Concrete Society members.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
