your data.

Who runs this

Construction Events is a personal project. The data controller is the individual operator, contactable at hello@constructionevents.uk. The site is hosted on Vercel, the database is Supabase (London region), and transactional email is sent via Resend.

What we collect

There are only two ways we collect anything about you:

• If you subscribe to the digest. We store your email address, the timestamp you signed up, your IP address, and your user agent (browser/OS string). The IP and user agent are kept solely as an anti-abuse signal — so we can spot bots flooding the signup form — and are not used for tracking or profiling.
• If you submit an event. Anything you type into the submission form, plus the URL you're referring us to. We do not store your IP or any other identifier with the submission.

We do not use analytics cookies, advertising trackers, or session fingerprinting. We don't set any cookies of our own beyond what Vercel uses internally for routing.

Why we collect it

For the newsletter: to send you the fortnightly digest you asked for. The legal basis is your consent, given via double opt-in. For event submissions: to evaluate the source and decide whether to add it to our scraping rota.

Who we share it with

We use three third-party processors. They process your data only on our behalf and only for the purposes above:

• Supabase — database hosting (London, EU-West-2).
• Vercel — site hosting (US East). Requests to the site transit through Vercel's edge.
• Resend — sends your confirmation email and the digest. Resend can see your email address and the content of the email.

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or pass it to anyone else. We will only disclose it if compelled by UK law.

How long we keep it

Subscriber records stay on the list until you unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, we keep your email address with an unsubscribed_at timestamp so we don't accidentally re-add you if someone signs you up. You can ask for the record to be fully deleted at any time — just email us. Event submissions are kept for 12 months for audit, then deleted.

You have the right to:

Children

This site is aimed at construction industry professionals. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, please tell us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we materially change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and note the date at the top. If the changes affect newsletter subscribers, we'll also email you.
