South West Back to Basics Training Day 2026

This day will provide a useful foundation for those concerned with the specification, production, construction, testing and day-to-day supervision of concrete. Training presentations will be delivered by industry professionals on their specific areas of expertise and will provide an introduction to all things concrete: What concrete is comprised of, where these materials originate and the effect they have on key concrete properties. Concrete standards and specification. How concrete is produced and delivered. How concrete is placed on site and the importance of correct placement and finishing techniques. How concrete is assessed both in the fresh and hardened state. The training includes practical demonstrations looking at fresh concrete testing, concrete rheology and admixture technologies. The day is aimed at providing training for contractors, specifiers, producers, new comers to the industry or those who just want a refresher on the basics of concrete technology.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
